SOCCER SIGN-UPS CONTINUE FOR LIMITED TIME
FOR SENIOR LEAGUE ONLY
The Emporia-Greensville Recreation Association says 2009 soccer registrations are continuing for a limited time with only the Senior League now accepting new players.
Persons interested can contact Soccer Commissioner, David Sledge, at 634-3756 after 6 p.m. or the Industrial Development Corporation at 425-H South Main Street in the Emporia Executive Center office complex during business hours.
Slots remain for boys ages 11 to 13 and girls ages 11 to 14. League age for soccer is determined by the age of the player September 1, 2009
Parents or guardians must sign permission forms, provide birth certificates if new to a league and pay a $35 registration fee at the time of registration and before any child can practice or play. Over 125 players participate in the local sport annually.
The Emporia-Greensville Recreation Association is the largest provider of sports team recreation in the area with over 1,200 participants in 18 leagues. The program is funded in part by the City of Emporia and County of Greensville.
