The Emporia-Greensville Recreation Association final registration for baseball and softball leagues is continuing for a limited time only.

Persons may still register at the IDC office at 425-H. S. Main Street or by contacting any commissioner on the Commissioners' page.

Parents or guardians must sign permission forms, pay a $45 fee at the time of registration and before any child can practice or play. It is needed to pay a part of the cost of each participant. EGRA generates about 30% of its budget from fees and concessions. The remainder comes from the City of Emporia and Greensville County.

A birth record is required for all children new to a league this year.

Baseball/softball leagues are planned for participants 5-18 years of age, depending on the league. Tee-Ball is available for 5 and 6 year olds. Coach-Pitch Baseball Leagues include 7 and 8 year olds. Softball and baseball will be offered to players 7 years of age and older. League age is determined by the age on or after May 1 for baseball (including Tee-Ball) and for softball.

Practice for most leagues will start after March 15, with most games beginning in late April.
